Breathe Safe International Ltd. have been established since 2012.

How long has the Sentry 4 System been manufactured?

The Sentry 4 Inert Entry Life Support System was the first of its kind and originally approved in 1997 as a Category III complex anti panic respiratory protective system manufactured for surface use in inert environments.

Does Breathe Safe International have an approved quality management system?

Yes, Breathe Safe International Limited are certified to ISO 9001:2015. We are also quality monitored by the British Safety Industry Federation and the British Standards Institute under EC Quality of Production.

Is the Sentry 4 Inert Entry Life Support System approved?

Yes, the whole system and its component parts are tested to EN 14593-1:2005, EN 136:1998 and EN 402:2003 and approved to a technical specification based on annex II of the PPE Regulation (EU) 425/2016.

The harness assembly is compliant with EN 361:2002. And the communication system is Atex approved:

– USA – Class I, II, III, Division 1, Groups A, B, C, D, E, F, G, T3C.

– Canada – Class I, Division I, Groups A, B, C, D; Class II, Group G and Coal Dust; Class III, T3C.

– EU – ATEX EX II 1 GD EEx ia IIC T4 ITSO4ATEX21945X IEC Ex ia IIC T4 Ga IECEx ITS 08.0022X

Who are the notified body for the Sentry 4 Inert Entry Life Support System?

What type of system is the Sentry 4 Inert Entry Life Support System?

The system is an umbilical supplied positive pressure helmet system with twin independent demand valves and four independent air supplies.

What is the maximum number of wearers for the Sentry 4 System?

The sentry 4 supplies breathing air for up to 4 wearers simultaneously, other systems are available from Breathe Safe International to increase the number of wearers per system.

How many people does it take to operate the Sentry 4 System?

We recommend a minimum of 6 persons: 1 module operator, 1 entry supervisor and 4 wearers.

How often does the Sentry 4 System need to be serviced?

The sentry 4 system is subject to local by laws and legislations from where they are operated. In the UK all breathing apparatus systems are subject to a minimum of a 30 day inspection under the COSHH regulations and the manufacturer requires an annual, five yearly, 10 yearly and 15 yearly service.

Are repairs and servicing available for the Sentry 4 System?

Breathe Safe International are able to offer a full after sales service package for repairs, maintenance and training . All packages are tailored to the clients requirements and are available on an international basis, unless required or requested services will be offered on a non contractual basis.

Am I able to maintain my own Sentry 4 System?

Yes, Breathe Safe International offer a full service and maintenance training package to compliment your purchase.

Is Sentry 4 training available and will I have to sit an exam?

Yes, Breathe Safe International offer training based around the client’s own requirements. This includes tailored courses for, wearer use and limitations, module operator, field maintenance and service/maintenance. All our training is conducted in line with British standards and feature both practical and theoretical assessments.

Where can replacement parts/service parts be purchased for the Sentry 4 System?

Only components manufactured and supplied by Breathe Safe International may be used, this is to ensure safety and conformity. Do users need to be face fit tested? How often is it required and where can it be undertaken?

Face fit testing is a requirement under UK HSE ruling and Breathe Safe International recommend face fit testing is carried out in all cases internationally.

Breathe Safe International offer a full quantitative evidential fit testing service for users of Sentry 4 and other RPE.

Are multiple sizes of face seals required with Sentry 4?

No, the unique universal size flame retardant face seal developed for the Sentry 4 System means you need to only purchase one size, reducing cost and change-out down time.

What is the maximum air duration of the Sentry 4 Inert Entry Life Support System?

There is no maximum. The unique design allows for live air change out without compromising the safety of the wearer, the minimum air duration to any one wearer is 14 hours approximately.

Can the Sentry 4 System be supplied by a compressor?

The Sentry 4 System is able to run from a compressor with static air cylinder supplies and reserves, however this in turn restricts the working duration to the abilities of the compressor and stored air reserves.

What is the maximum length of umbilical that can be used with Sentry 4?

The maximum length of umbilical that can be used with the Sentry 4 Inert Entry Life Support System is 90 metres.

Can I join multiple umbilicals?

No, the joining of multiple umbilicals is prohibited.

Can the Sentry 4 System be used under water?

No, the Sentry 4 Inert Entry Life Support System is for ‘on land’ use only.

Is the Sentry 4 Communication System approved?

Yes, the communication system is Atex approved:
